Star Students Get New Website
24/10/2005
Accessibility is an important issue for all websites nowadays, but for the National Star College it was absolutely fundamental that their website was accessible to prospective and current students and the college alumni.
FletcherConsult is pleased to announce the launching of a new academic website for the National Star College, which resolves accessibility issues, whilst providing a fully content managed solution using FletcherConsult's content management system (CMS) product, AccessOpen CMS
The National Star College website was tested by students and staff with a wide range of disabilities. The accessibility features include:
- Browsealoud enabled - simply by scrolling your mouse over the text that you want read to you, Browsealoud reads and speaks the contents of the web pages.
- Access Keys - allowing keyboard access to the main pages of the website.
- Skip Navigation - for those using screen readers like Lynx and Jaws.
- High Contrast Version - easy to read with larger text and high contrast text
- Alternative Background Colours - pink, green and buff alternatives.
